hdtv01Romania’s TV market is about to become even more competitive, with RCS/RDS, its leading cable and DTH operator, set to add HD channels to its offer.

According to ZF, they are likely to be rolled out in the same way as mobile services were by the company. Namely, they will first be trialled in Oradea, which is the hometown of RCS/RDS’s owner Zoltan Teszari, and then launched commercially both there and in other large cities around the country.

turcia01Românii care efectuează vizite pe termen scurt în Turcia pot călători fără viză din 9 ianuarie 2010, ca urmare a unei decizii a Guvernului Republicii Turcia.

Potrivit noului regim de vize, cetăţenii români care au paşapoarte obişnuite sunt exceptaţi de la viză pentru călătorii în scopuri turistice de până la 90 de zile în cadrul a 180 de zile, începând cu prima dată de intrare, a anunţat un comunicat al Ambasadei Turciei.

 

Romania faces second highest risk of poverty in EU

The at-risk-of-poverty rates for persons currently employed in the European Union has been 8% in average in 2008, while Romania recorded the second highest rate of 17%, official figures from Eurostat show.
The lowest at-risk-of-poverty rate was recorded in Czech Republic, of only 4%. However, Romania recorded in 2008 the highest poverty risk rate for those aged up to 17 years of 33% compared to an average of 20% in European Union and the second highest poverty risk rate of population.
 

Britain, no longer an option

la-dolce-vitaBritain has dropped to 25th place on a list of the best places in the world to live  -  behind countries such as the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Uruguay.

While France tops the poll for the fifth year running, the UK's climate, crime rate, cost of living, congested roads and overcrowded cities have pushed it even further down from last year's ranking at 20.

The Quality of Life Index, published by International Living magazine for the 30th year, says the French live life to the full, while Britons are over-worked.
